2023 is going to be a year to GIVE BACK

Friends – I’m super excited to announce that in November of this year, I will be participating in the Royal LePage 2023 Challenge for Shelter in Ecuador.

The Challenge involves a 5-day trek towards one of the highest active volcanoes in the world with amazing views over the Andes Mountain range and ending up at the footsteps of Mt. Cotopaxi.

Along with fellow colleagues from across the country, we will be fundraising in support for The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation which raises funds for local women’s shelters as well as supporting national domestic violence prevention programs. Specifically, the funds I raise will be going directly to the Halton Women’s Shelter.

This trek will not be easy, but it is nothing compared to the challenges that many women and children face each day. Did you know:

  • 67% of Canadians personally know a woman who has been abused.
  • On average, every six days a woman in Canada is killed by her current or former intimate partner.
  • 362,000 Canadian children are exposed to domestic violence each year.
  • Shelters are critical to the safety and well-being of women and children fleeing domestic violence; the most dangerous time for a woman is when she leaves her abusive partner.

If you can, please consider donating to this very needed service and organization. Donations with tax receipts can be made at www.giselletreks.com

Thank you so much for your support!

Giselle
